At Children’s Allergy Doctors, over 5,000 children have been supported with conditions such as eczema, food allergies, asthma, and hay fever. Your child’s unique needs are at the heart of everything we do, ensuring they receive personalized care from an expert team. If you’d like support for your child, our consultation fees are outlined below. These reflect the specialist expertise and comprehensive care available to your family. Please note that for self-pay patients, payment is required in advance of the consultation to confirm the booking.

We do not offer skin prick tests without consultations and it is important that a clinician spends time discussing the implications of the test results with the family, in order to ensure accuracy of diagnosis and to avoid unnecessary dietary restrictions.

We may need to perform blood tests to investigate your child’s symptoms. For insured patients, these may be charged by the laboratory or hospital where they have been performed. If you have health insurance you should contact them prior to your appointment to obtain authorisation for the consultation and procedure fees, to obtain pre-authorisation. For self pay patients they will be charged by Children’s Allergy Doctors.

  • Imaging fees

We may also need hospital may need to perform other diagnostic tests such as Chest X-rays,  ultrasounds or MRI scans. The cost of tests is determined by and charged by the hospital where your child is to be seen. Prices vary slightly between hospitals and can be requested in advance from the hospital before proceeding with tests. If your visit is covered by health insurance, it is important that to contact your insurance provider prior to undertaking these tests.

Self-pay treatment fees

  1. ALK produce three licensed dispersible tablets that treat grass pollen (Grazax), birch pollen (Itulizax), and house dust mite allergy (Acarizax). These tablets are suitable from age 5, and are taken daily all year round.
  2. Oralvac products are unlicensed liquid drop formulations that has been used safely for over 20 years in specialist centres. They are suitable from age 2 and offers a broader allergen range, including the usual allergens (grass pollen, birch pollen, house dust mite), but also other tree pollens (plane tree, olive (covers ash) tree, weed pollens (Mugwort), animal dander (cat, dog, horse dander), and mould allergens (Alternaria).

Oralvac is taken either year-round for perennial allergens, or for 7–8 months a year for seasonal allergens. Both options are provided as a three-year package of care, which includes:

– The full course of SLIT medication
– Home delivery of the treatment
– All SLIT initiation appointments
– Reviews if allergic symptoms arise due to the SLIT medication
– A formal effectiveness review in Year 2 to reduce other medications (e.g. asthma inhalers, intranasal steroids and antihistamines)

This ensures your child’s progress is monitored and supported throughout their immunotherapy journey.

The build-up phase for oral food immunotherapy includes a consultation with one of our specialist paediatric allergy dietitians (charged separately), the cost of equipment for the immunotherapy program (£400-£500 depending on the protocol), 6-13 monthly visits depending on your child’s specific allergies. Each visit is charged at £600 per visit for one OIT food, £650 per visit for two OIT foods and £700 per visit for 3-4 OIT foods. 

Oral food immunotherapy (desensitisation) – we offer a personalised programme depending on the number of foods and how severe your child’s food allergies are in children up until the age of 4 years. In children older than 4 years of age we will be offering sublingual immunotherapy to foods from March 2026.
